The Friendlies Weight Loss Program in collaboration with Impromy focuses on improving health through weight loss and good nutrition. The program uses a combination of great tasting meal replacements, high protein meals and ongoing support from your Friendlies pharmacy team, to help you lose and manage your weight.

Frequently asked questions about the program
How do I know if I am eligible for the program?
You can book a free 15 minute consultation with your Friendlies who will provide you with an overview of the program and also determine if you are eligible. To be eligible you must:
- Be 18 years or over
- Not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
What does the Impromy membership include?
Your membership pack includes lifetime membership, the Simply Well recipe book – incorporating high protein recipes for successful weight loss, a get started guide, membership card, smartphone app access and an initial health review report. Your membership also includes all consultations and ongoing, regular health reviews at the pharmacy.
What if I’m already an Impromy member at a different pharmacy?
Yes, if you’re already an Impromy member you can transfer to Friendlies at no cost, To transfer, book a free consultation or visit us in-store.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
On average, participants lose 1.8kgs in their first week and 1 in 4 lost 10% or more of their body weight over 12 weeks^. What’s more, the simple program and the support you get from Friendlies make you more likely to succeed.
Can the the Weight Loss Program help reduce my blood pressure and cholesterol?
Yes. Weight loss and a healthy eating plan should contribute to reducing these health risk factors.
Is exercise required as part of the program?
No, although we do encourage you to exercise as part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You will still lose weight even if you choose not to do any exercise., however clients can usually expect to see improved weight loss results and other health benefits if regular physical activity is added.
Are meal replacements healthy?
Yes, the Impromy meal replacement shakes, soups and bars have been scientifically formulates to provide a proven nutritional balance of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and dietary fibres. They are also compliant with the Australian and New Zealand Food Standards Code (FSANZ) and made using only the highest quality ingredients. Best of all, they taste great!
How many Meal Replacements will be incorporated into my tailored Meal Plan?
The program is personalised to your age, weight, height and gender so you get the correct amount of energy to lose weight safely. This means some people are on 2 shakes or soups a day, others up to 4. As you progress through the program and lose weight, your program and meal plan will be reassessed and adjusted accordingly.
Can I replace all of my meals to get faster weight loss?
We don’t recommend replacing all your food with meal replacement products. The program is designed to provide long-term weight management. Eating normal foods is an important part of losing and maintaining weight over a longer period of time.
How often do I need to visit my local pharmacy?
After your initial consultation, you will return and meet with your pharmacist at one, three, six and twelve months. We also encourage you to visit your pharmacy weekly for a health review to check on your progress. This usually takes 10 minutes. Data shows that customers who visit the pharmacy more regularly see far better results than those who visit infrequently.
Is it OK to use the program when pregnant?
The Impromy programs is not recommended when you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as the meal plans may not contain enough nutrients to support the needs of both mum and baby. Seek advice from your Pharmacist before enrolling.
Is it OK to drink alcohol or coffee on the program?
Alcohol is OK on the program in moderation during certain phases. Coffee can be enjoyed but if you have milk in your coffee this will count towards your daily protein intake. Read the program guide or talk to your pharmacist for more information.
